| i was lucky enough that me and my dad saved up enough cans and extra money that we bought a welder and today i got it all ready and it was my first time welding. It was fun, but i didnt do that great of a job. but the pieces i welded stayed together even when i hit them about 20 times with a hammer so thats good. so how was your first welding experience, did you like it or not, did you do a good job, and what welder you used |

| Well my first welding experience was when i was 8 and my bro got a mg welder(the one i have now) and after a week of watching him i got to try. At first like all people ,i had such messy welds but after a bit i got pretty good. I really enjoyed it just because it was so nice for me to create something. Im a kinda guy who learns by doing. There is no real way to learn to weld other then WELDING. you have to actually WELD to get it. |

| Ive welded for quite a few years now- not really a whole lot between using it, but i do ocasionally. Ive taken both ARC, MIG and TIG welding classes at the local boces- i did fairly well- cept when i set my pants on fire, had to run for the dunk tank and stick my foot in it .
I call my welds 'gorilla welds' - ugly but tough. |

| My first welding was aweful! Didnt help that the wire the welder came with was crap. Not even my mate (who welds for a living!) could get a good weld with that wire.
My welding isnt great looking, but never had anyhting break on me! Thats always good. I learn by doing to. I had no experience when I got my welder. Its a great tool to have around though! _________________ If it ain't broke, you ain't driving it hard enough!

| I first learned how to weld using a stick welder on the farm. I was 8 or so. I liked it so much that in high school I went to the tech school in the welding department. I welded professionally for over 10 years. I love welding at home but to weld in a manufacturing setting sucks. Anyway, to get back to the question, My first welding experience was in the middle of a field trying to weld a yoke back on the hay wagon so we could get it home. It held for a few years until it broke again and I had to weld it again |
