| Do you have any of the rest of the car, like the front suspension and hubs? I always wanted to take a small, maybe smaller than a neon, FWD car and use the whole frontend to make a fast rear engine buggy, fabricating the chassis and front suspension. If it will pull a neone on the highway at 80 easily, imagine what it would do in a much lighter buggy offorad, haha. |

| Id mod a tractor to fit the motor - build a custom frame ( box frame) mount tractor body on it , slicks in the back , lowered, side pipes.
If a tech class can stuff a 305 small block v8 under the hood of a JD and make it look stock- a neon motor should be easy.
Mount the motor inline with the chassis, look for a small rear drive car trans, use a rear axle shortened from it. |

Yeah thats what i was thinking, but making it 4wd. finding two small diffs would cost a lot. |

| You could always use the neon transaxle mounted sideways and run driveshafts from it to your solid axles. There have been many rock crawlers built like that. http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=562853 |

Thats pretty much what i was thinking, but maybe not as fancy and heavy duty.
I was going to try and make or use either lawn tractor or go karts diffs but i don't know how they will hold up to 130hp. |

| You could try Sazuki Samurai diffs. They are pretty light duty. With the FWD transmission mounted sideways you won't have much speed though, which is why it's suited to crawling. |

| Roboman79: "Yeah thats what i was thinking, but making it 4wd. finding two small diffs would cost a lot." Junkyard- small early compact cars, early toyota pickups- stuff like that. Heck panzers used chrysler rear axles. should be able to find something not too expensive. Thatd be an awsome 4x4- some guy built a 'go kart' from a set of toyota axles : Id have to dig around for finished pics of it - i found that build at a lawntractor racing site actually..... |

| Ok, i think i kinda know what i'm useing it for, but it will be a while before i use it bacause i'm working on other smaller projects for now. One is a very small buggy i'm building from scatch, it will sit very high and be smaller then a lawn tractor, i hope to have suspension too. I'll make some post's about them when i get farther into it. |
